Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre

you’ve been inspired to take up golf by the Masters or are a player looking for a new challenge, Middlesbrough’s Municipal Golf Centre on Ladgate Lane has something for you.

And all are invited to the Centre’s Open Evening on Wednesday, April 13 to find out more.

Centre managers and golf experts will be on hand to outline the services on offer and give encouragement to newcomers to the sport.

The aim is to show how easy it is to take up golf as a sport and leisure activity or to play at the Municipal Golf Centre more often. Golf is a great leisure activity as part of a healthy lifestyle and the Golf Centre offers a variety of competitively priced season ticket packages and attractive green fees. The Centre has also developed into a leading function venue with excellent bar and catering facilities.

Visitors will also be able to find out more about everything from competitions to Academy Golf for youngsters new to the game.

Golf professional Andy Blythe will be on hand with an interactive display outlining his professional services and tuition.

The Municipal Golf Centre has been home to excellent golf for over 30 years, playing host to both an 18-hole parkland golf course, a driving range and a nine-hole pitch and putt course due to re-open at the end of May after restoration work.

Golf Centre manager Peter Lawson said: “Over the last few days the Masters at Augusta has showcased everything that’s great about the game of golf.

“But you don’t need to be a top flight professional to enjoy this fantastic sport – and here in Middlesbrough we have some of the best facilities in the region.

“It’s a great way to stay in shape, and is not nearly as expensive as some people might imagine.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming people on Wednesday for a look around and a chat about what we have to offer – who knows, there could be a star of the future out there just waiting to be discovered.”
