Museums at night at mima

mima, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art is planning a one day extravaganza of free and exciting events for adults and families to kick start Adult Learners Week and the Museums at Night initiative.

Running throughout the day and night, the event, mima Unlimited, will offer visitors the opportunity to sample a wide range of workshops, talks and sessions. Activities include jewellery making, gallery drawing, store tours, exhibition insights and live acoustic sets.

Café Prego will be offering specially themed hot drinks and cupcakes, ideal tasty fare for sharing your superstitions over on a Friday 13th.

mima Unlimited is supported by Culture 24’s nationally successful Museums at Night partnership. The annual initiative aims to open our national and regional cultural institutions after hours and encourage non-visitors to get involved.

“Museums at Night is a fantastic initiative that really makes museums and galleries accessible, fun and interesting…There are countless great events going on over the Museums at Night weekend - I can't wait to sample some of them."

Lauren Laverne, BBC6 Music DJ and official Ambassador for the Museums at Night initiative.
