A new short film showcases what’s in Middlesbrough’s fantastic modern art gallery mima – all in three minutes!
‘mima in 3 minutes’ takes a fast fun tour of mima and shows its many galleries, the children’s play space, the café, shop and stunning terrace.
The film is hosted on various websites, including Middlesbrough Council’s homepage, and will be shown on the BBC Big Screen in Centre Square.
Vicky Sturrs, mima’s education officer, said: “The aim of the video is to show people who have not been to mima before or are unsure what’s inside mima to give them an insight into what it offers.
“mima has wonderful art and exhibition spaces, a children’s rest and play room, a lovely café and shop and there are lots of things to get involved in.
“We hope ‘mima in 3 minutes’ helps people make the transition from watching the video to going through our front door and enjoying all that mima has to offer.”
The music on the video is Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag performed by guitar virtuoso Duck Baker and used with kind permission from Shining Shadows Music.
On show this season is a colourful UK touring exhibition of British collage from the Arts Council Collection premiering at mima, an intimate look at work by world-renowned artist Ben Nicholson including many unseen works, and an exciting solo exhibition by North East based artist Richard Forster, with new work linked to Saltburn shore.
