We Are Open

Local artistic talent is being showcased at a special open evening to launch Middlesbrough’s latest ‘pop up’ studios.

The event - on Saturday, August 27, from 6pm until late – is being held at Studio 2, Broadcasting House, Newport Road, Middlesbrough, as well as Unit 6 and 69 behind Broadcasting House.

Visitors will have a chance find out what goes on in the studios, meet the artists and talk to them about their work.

The We Are Open Pop Up Studios provide studio spaces for 24 artists including painters, printmakers, graphic designers, sculptors, textile and fashion designers and more.

The open evening will feature a mix of entertainment ranging from live music to comedy sketches. Refreshments will be provided and all are welcome.

The We Are Open project is supported by Middlesbrough Council’s Business Development Team and the European Regional Development Fund 2007 – 2013.
