An event to promote friendship and understanding between women from different cultures is taking place in Middlesbrough.

The International Friendship Evening and Launch of Women Learning Together takes place on Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm at the Sporting Lodge Hotel in Low Lane.

The aim of the evening is to promote greater understanding and goodwill between women of different cultures in the town as well as inspire a vision for young girls from ethnic minorities to achieve their aspirations.

The event is being held by the Soroptimist International of Middlesbrough and Women Learning Together.
