Roseberry Topping by Adrian Moule

This year, the Big Give will once again be running an exclusive charity Ebay auction and Teesside artist Adrian Moule has kindly donated an original oil painting of Roseberry Topping to be auctioned on behalf of charity Tees Valley Arts.

Adrian has donated an original oil on canvas painting of Roseberry Topping measuring 930mm x 610mm and painted in 2011.

Adrian says of his work "This painting is conceived from studies taken around Roseberry Topping and this particular view is from the area around Clay Bank, high ground looking into the valley and back up to Roseberry. I have not mapped in any of the farm buildings into this landscape, I am trying to reach the idea of the landscape constantly changing. There is, I hope, a feeling of sea within the landscape as this landscape was created by a frozen sea many years ago..."

Adrian Moule studied at Cleveland College of Art after working as a Painter and Decorator and then a Signwriter, furthering his studies at Northumbria and Teesside University. His image making is usually within a community setting, working with the young and the disadvantaged and developing structures that support a community voice. His work is widely collected privately, his book works have been in touring exhibitions, with works sent to galleries and sold in Russia, Italy, USA, Japan and Ireland.

Rowena Sommerville, Director of Tees Valley Arts commented “It is a fantastic gesture by Adrian to donate this painting in aid of Tees Valley Arts. Many people will know of Adrian for his work with schools and community groups and this is a great opportunity for someone to purchase one of Adrian’s own paintings.”

The site is fully funded by the Reed Foundation and runs annual ‘Christmas Challenges’ to help donors double donations.
