Teesside University has appointed communications expert, Michael Lavery, as its new Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment (MSR).
Michael Lavery, who took up post earlier this month, has just completed six successful years as head of the marketing and communications directorate at Durham University. He will lead a team with a broad remit covering strategic marketing and student recruitment, media and communications, events, fundraising and development and alumni relations.
Michael brings a wealth of experience to Teesside, not only as a nationally recognised communications leader but also with senior level experience spanning marketing, public relations, and in-house communications within both the UK retail sector and the higher education sector in the UK and overseas. Michael also has extensive experience as a highly regarded speaker at European communications and education conferences.
Priorities in his new role include driving even greater national and international awareness of the University and positioning Teesside amongst the most enterprising and business-engaged universities in the UK.
