Tim Vine

Teesside comedy fans could find themselves as stars of the show when ‘King of the One Liners’ Tim Vine brings his brand new Chat Show to Middlesbrough Town Hall on Wednesday 3 October.

Tim is the latest big name to be added to the Town Hall’s already impressive autumn comedy line-up, and comes to Teesside following a total sell-out run and rave reviews at last year’s Edinburgh Festival.

Actual people are the stars of this brand new show, and Tim interviews them all with childlike enthusiasm.

So, expect the pun-expected, as Tim chats to guests plucked from the audience. It could be Larry from Linthorpe, Steve from Stockton, Helen from Hartlepool or even Sarah from Saltburn!

Tim is back on the road following his acclaimed Joke-Amotive tour and winning 2010’s Dave Joke Of The Fringe Award with ‘I’ve just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’ll tell you what, never again.’ To celebrate, he went to Sooty’s barbeque and had a Sweepsteak.

Described by The Sunday Times as ‘the best value comic you’ll ever see,’ Tim will soon be starring in the fifth series of hit BBC1 sitcom Not Going Out alongside Lee Mack, and has recently won the Loaded Lafta Award for Funniest Joke: ‘Conjunctivitis.com – that’s a site for sore eyes.’

Laura Hannaway of Middlesbrough Town Hall said: “Tim absolutely stormed Edinburgh last year with this show – and he’s just had another sell-out run in London too. This is going to be a fantastic night, and just adds to an amazing autumn of comedy right here at the Town Hall.

Tim’s Boro date adds to a string of great upcoming Town Hall shows including Jon Richardson (15 April), Rich Hall (19 May), Jimmy Carr (1 June & 10 November), Jason Cook (20 July), Jim Jefferies (7 September), Frankie Boyle (29 September) Al Murray (16 October), Kevin Bridges (17 October), Rhod Gilbert (30 October) and Stewart Francis (8 November) – with the hugely popular Big Mouth Comedy Club also bringing packed crowds to the Town Hall Crypt on the first Saturday of every month.

It all continues an impressive few years for the Town Hall; with a string of big names including Michael McIntyre, Alan Carr, John Bishop, Jason Manford, Rob Brydon, Dara O Briain, Ross Noble, Sarah Millican, Micky Flanagan, Dave Gorman & Dylan Moran alongside a host of others all having enjoyed some great gigs.
