Middlesbroughh Municipal Golf Centre

A leading municipal golf centre is hosting an open evening to attract current and new players to the game.

Middlesbrough Golf Centre, widely regarded as one of the best council-run golf complexes in the UK, is set to start the golf season in top condition.

An open evening is taking place at the Golf Centre, on Ladgate Lane, on Thursday, May 3 from 5pm – 8pm.

The event will raise the profile of the centre and attract new and current players as well as anyone new to playing golf.

Middlesbrough Golf Centre, includes a top quality 18-hole course, par 3 pitch and putt, floodlit driving range, golf shop, bar lounge, restaurant and function rooms.

At the open evening customers will be able to renew or take out new memberships and season tickets and also to discover more about booking golfing activities, social activities and private functions at the centre.

Professional Andy Blythe will be available to talk about tuition services which are available seven days a week.

Season ticket prices have been kept the same as last year and there is also a wide range of reductions for season ticket members including discounts on buggy hire, room hire and catering.

A benefits package also provides season ticket holders with a month of free activities at local leisure centres, swimming pools and gyms.

In the past year more than 2.5km of extra drainage has been laid under fairways and greens on the course and there has also been significant redevelopment of several tees and bunkers.

Councillor Brenda Thompson, Executive Member for Public Health and Sport, said: “Middlesbrough Golf Centre has a superb reputation in regional golf.

“This open evening is an ideal opportunity for regular players or people thinking about taking up golf for the first time to have a look around and find out more about enjoying these excellent facilities.

“Golf is also a great way for all ages to get regular exercise and stay healthy.”

The bar will be open and food will be available.
