Middlesbrough Mela stall

Middlesbrough Mela will be celebrating its 21st birthday in style this year – and there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.

The Mela has established itself as one of the North East’s most successful cultural festivals, drawing crowds of nearly 40,000 people to Middlesbrough’s beautiful Albert Park.

This year’s coming of age event over the weekend of July 16 and 17 promises more of the same - a wonderful two days of arts, music, crafts, sports, fashion and food.

One of the most popular features of the festival is the colourful and vibrant Mela Bazaar, a bustling market area trading in foods from around the world, fashions and fabrics, arts and crafts, as well as activities such as henna, hair braiding and face painting. The Bazaar is also a great place for businesses, organisations and charities to get their message across to lots of people.

Organisers are now taking bookings for stalls. Anyone interested in bringing a stall to the Mela should email melastalls@middlesbrough.gov.uk, call the Stalls Hotline on 07789 744657 or download application forms and further information below.
