Sarah Millican announces 3 Teesside dates

She’s already smashed box office records up and down the land, and top TV comic Sarah Millican has today confirmed THREE Teesside dates for next year.

The hugely popular comic brings her brand-new show Control Enthusiast to Stockton’s ARC on Thursday 1 February, followed by two nights at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thursday 14 & Friday 15 June.

Tickets for all three gigs go on sale at 10am this Friday morning (Friday 30 June), and mark a hugely welcome Teesside return after a string of sell-out gigs at both ARC and the Town Hall in 2015.

Sarah enjoyed a rapid rise to fame after winning the Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008, and quickly became firmly established as one of the UK’s best loved comics.

Voted ‘Queen of Comedy’ at the British Comedy Awards, she has also fronted three series of her own BAFTA nominated BBC2 show, and has notched up countless appearances on a string of top shows including QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Live at the Apollo.

Now, with four sell-out tours already under her belt, her brand-new show Control Enthusiast promises to be another huge hit.

The show describes the not-so-subtle differences between a control freak and a control enthusiast.

Do you arrange the nights out? Are you in charge of the passports on holiday? Then you’re a control enthusiast.

And, whether you’re sorting the tickets for this show or simply turning up when you’re told, Sarah promises a warm welcome for everyone.

Graham Ramsay of promoters Ten Feet Tall said: “We’ve had these dates pencilled in for a good while now, and it’s been hard to keep the secret – we’re all very relieved in the office that we’ve finally been given the green light to tell the world, and get the shows on sale!

“We’ve worked with Sarah right from the early days of her career, and it’s been a real joy to see how she’s captured the hearts of millions of comedy fans along the way.

“Sarah is obviously one of the biggest names in the world of comedy, but with her being from just up the road, it seems like her skewed North East take on things resonates even more with Teesside crowds.

“She’s immensely popular round here, and there are very few comics who could sell so many tickets in such a short space of time. Her previous gigs have smashed box office records, and even led to the occasional box office meltdown.

“The ARC show will be gorgeous and intimate, for those lucky enough to bag a seat.

“And it will be great to see her back on that Town Hall stage too. As many will know, there are a lot of people hard at work transforming the venue at the moment, and we can’t wait to see it open again next year.

“We’re playing our own part, grafting away to get some great shows in the diary for the relaunch in 2018. Watch this space – more news soon!”
