Thorntree Park is within walking distance of most people living in the East Middlesbrough area. The park contains two children's play areas two floodlit kick-about areas and an informal garden.

Local residents and others regularly get together as the "Friends of Thorntree Park "to discuss the use of the park and possible improvements. If you would like to get involved please contact them.

The park is open daily from 7.30am until dusk.

The park is also the home site of Cargo Fleet Junior Football Club who use the football pitches and pavilion. On weekends the site is very busy with footballers using the site for matches, training and associated events and activities. The park centre building includes an activity room, changing rooms, kitchen and toilet facilities and is managed by the Junior Football Club.
