Starring Todd Carty as King Rat

Middlesbrough Theatre has lined up another sparkling show this Christmas to add even more glitz and fizz to your festive season.

Join Dick Whittington and his trusty cat as he seeks fame, fortune and happiness on his quest to become the Lord Mayor of London. However things don’t go quite to plan as Dick discovers that instead of gold the streets of London are lined with an army of rats!

Can our hero outwit the evil rodent King Rat (Todd Carty from EastEnders), free London from his team of revolting rodents and win the beautiful Alice’s hand in marriage?

Find out in the ultimate magical pantomime adventure!

There will be dazzling costumes, spellbinding special effects and lots of audience participation that will keep the whole family entertained and amused.

Middlesbrough Theatre

Middlesbrough Theatre has quite a remarkable history. From it's conception in the late 1920's to its opening as the first architect-designed theatre to be built after the Second World War - it is the result of a 27-year dream and the unswerving dedication of theatre lovers in Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough Theatre has an intimacy that belies its 486 seat capacity. A winning combination that has enabled the theatre to play host to a wide variety of performances from big bands and stand-up comedy to full-scale amateur musicals and Indian dance.

Middlesbrough Theatre continues to serve its community hosting performances from leading actors and renowned companies as well as by providing first class facilities to local amateur operatic and dramatic societies as well as young students from local dance schools and performing arts colleges.

On performance days, we re-open for telephone bookings at 6pm (1 1/2 hours before curtain-up on Sundays) and 3/4 hour before curtain-up for personal callers and stay open until 9pm. 01642 81 51 81


Access

The Theatre can accommodate up to six wheelchairs per performance, one free ticket will be issued for each companion. We regret that access to the bar is via stairs: drinks may be ordered and collected from the ground floor kiosk.

An infra-red system is available for the hard of hearing using discreet headsets, which are available from the box office.
