Opened on 23rd January 1889, Middlesbrough Town Hall remains an iconic and impressive building which provides locals and visitors to Middlesbrough with world class events and lots of opportunities to get involved.

After restoration work funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund which was completed in spring 2018, many of the original features have been uncovered and brought back to life, including the original underground police cells and the old fire station. One of the most unmissable finds is the beautiful glass ceiling in the courtroom – next time you're in there, don't forget to look up!
